Rock2Rock- (Friday) Voted one of the top trail races in the South by Blue Ridge Outdoor Magazine, Rock2Rock Trail Run is a technical and demanding course. Runners will find roots, rocks, downed trees, low limbs and very steep terrain …but the rewards are some sweet single track and an unmatched view off Eden rock. Cyclocross- (Friday) This year MSF is adding Cyclocross to our list of awesome events. The race will begin and end at Festival Village. Local made trophies for the top three finishers of each division (Mens B, Womens, Mens A). French Broad Challenge Triathlon- (Saturday) Glory Hound Events is teaming with the Mountain Sports Festival to bring you the second French Broad Challenge Triathlon. The race will start and finish inside the track at Carrier Park in the heart of the festival. Racers will run a 1.5 mile course that includes a portion of the French Broad River Greenway to the boat launch at the Asheville Outdoor Center and then paddle the 2.5 miles downstream to Jean Webb Park where the Transition Area will be set up for bikes and run gear. The bike course is an out-and-back route up and down Riverside Drive. Mountain Sports Festival Annual Fun Run & 5k- (Saturday) Each year Mountain Sports Festival runs a great 5k race for all levels of endurance. This year the race will take place within Carrier Park.
