Mountain Sports Festival is an all-volunteer, nonprofit festival that relies on the support of our awesome community of volunteers (including an all-volunteer working Board) to happen every year.
MSF simply would not be possible without the support of dedicated volunteers year after year, assisting with various tasks throughout the weekend. Each volunteer shift is usually 3-4 hours long. All volunteers will receive an MSF Volunteer T-shirt, MSF pint glass, Astral 30% discount card, a free beverage ticket, and lots of good karma at the Festival.

***VERY IMPORTANT FOR VOLUNTEERS POURING BEER***
In order to serve beer, you must first take the State ALE test! The test can be found here:
- Click “Register for seller/server training program”
- Click “Search for a business that I represent that currently holds permits OR has applied for permits”
(type in MOUNTAIN SPORTS FESTIVAL ASHEVILLE) – you do not need permit #
- Click on “Mountain Sports Festival Buncombe County”
- Follow registration instructions and complete the test
THIS IS MANDATORY FOR THOSE POURING BEER!! This will only take ~10mins of your time.
After completion, a certificate will appear. Print and sign it, and bring it with you. If you already completed the test reccently, you do not need to take it again; simply bring a signed copy of your certificate with you.
